Your ACC Stories

If you have ACC or know someone who has ACC, I encourage you to post your story here. You can also post information that may be useful to others, such as physicians and treatments that have helped or hindered your progress. Over the course of the last few years I have received so many emails with personal stories that I thought it would be great for everyone else who has ACC to benefit from them. There is a healing process that occurs when you know you aren't alone in the fight, especially with a rare disease. Thanks for sharing your stories!

Aunt Sheila  -  November 20

Krysti, Alex and your dear little boys: Am so glad you got the basket...I was hoping nothing would be broken. I only wish I could have delivered it in person. And also wish I could be one of those who lives near enough to help you. However, we think of you all day long and keep sending up prayers. You will have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving; and Lee and I hope you all have a really good Thanksgiving! Love lots!

I'm so glad to hear everything went well. I hope to be able to make it down there real soon to see you. You are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. I love you.

GooGoo  -  November 18

Wow! Krysti - you look wonderful! I just saw you yesterday (I went to keep the children for the day) and you look 100% better already! It must be the clean hair...heh. It's amazing that you're up and walking around today - and ironically, I just put up some little white lights around my kitchen, too! Looks like we're both anticipating a very different Christmas from last year (I had pneumonia on Christmas, too - same time as Krysti!). I pray that this will be the best Christmas and Thanksgiving you've ever had! You were right - when you said you were a "walking miracle".....we still talk about how you are able to speak and how you're recovering so much more quickly than anyone thought you might. I look forward to the day when you can "look up" - and have a much better view of things finally! We love you and are praying for you daily! Goo Goo and Papa P.S. That Iain - he's a chocoholic, just like his Goo Goo!

Krysti, I am so glad that you got to come home from the hospital already. I am sure it will be nice to be able to sleep in your own bed. I know that it is tough to ever sleep in a hospital, but I hope at home you are able to get enough rest and have enough care! YOu and Alex and boys have been in my prayers everyday. We think about you often and pray for a quick recovery.
Love and Hugs,
Monica

I'm continuing to pray for your recover and your family. This will be a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas. You have made me think about how blessed I really am. I will be sending the boys a package soon with new outfits for their bears. Praise God they no longer need Mommy Bears - They have their Mommy home with them now. I know you will get stronger everyday. Rest and don't overdue it. I hope we can meet at Christmas time this year.

Yay! You're home. We've been watching the cars come and go at your house. Thank you for the website. I check it everyday, praying for good news. We haven't wanted to intrude on Alex and your family during this time, but I want you to know we are here if you need anything. Just knock on our door or give us a call. I have missed your laughter and the latest tales of your boys..hope to see you soon.

Hi, I am Cheryl and Bobby's daughter. I helped out with the skits at VBS. I am so glad to hear the surgery went well and your voice is still intact! It is really great you're back at home too! I'm sure you're so glad to be back! My family and I, and all of my classmates at school have been praying for you daily. This has definitely been an answer to prayer. I think it's amazing all the strength and courage you have had through all of this!! I will continue to pray for you!
