Journal of my battle with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC)
|
Allison and Richard Puckett --Sam and new nephew Nate (I hope to see you soon buddy!)For our furniture and for always being there for us--God Bless!! |
AnonymousThanks to whomever gave us the housecleaning gift. This one gift has releaved so much stress for Krysti. For those of you who know her, she hyperorganizes everything; pens are filed according to color, toys are categorized according to theme, tupperware is color coded, and the list goes on. To deal with cleaning while caring for kids who continually equalize our efforts with their entropic skills and plan for the surgery has been truly overwhelming. I can not thank you enough, whoever you may be. I hope I can return the favor one day. |
BergetOur neighbor; for bringing Iain and Liam cookies when they NEEDED them. :) |
Bill and Pearl MayersFor the herbal soap (your soap site is coming soon--call me soon so we can talk out some details), the herbal book, and for your general concern for getting Krysti healthy. We are very grateful for all that you guys have done via your personal means and via VRG. Many, MANY thanks!! |
Black Sheep CarpetsThank you guys for the prayers. It's nice knowing there are people all over the world praying for Krysti; It's nice to tell friends people in Turkey are praying for Krysti! |
Bob WolfI first met Bob when I was looking for information about my dad's best friend David Napier who was adopted into his family, but lost his life in Vietnam. I started looking for 5/46th Charlie Company troops who were in Vietnam during 1968-1969 and came across Bob and I've been on his email list ever since. I mailed him yesterday and let him know about Krysti's condition and I have been receiving emails from veterans and others who are praying for Krysti's full recovery. Thanks to all of you who have sent messages of encouragement, some of whom are cancer survivors. Your stories give us hope. |
Cathy CunninghamThanks to Kelly's prayer partner, Cathy Cunningham, a lady I don't even know!!! She made us some homemade bread and Vegetarian Lasagna. I have churches all over that are praying for me and I'm so thankful to all of you!! |
Dan and Betty AlbusThanks always to my dad and Betty for helping Alex and I out with the kids and for always being there!! |
Dan, Krysti's dad and BettyFor helping me and Krysti during the weeks following the surgery. Not only did help give me some alone time to give Krysti personal attention, but it allowed me time to maintain this site. Many thanks! Sorry about Liam's fiery hatred of diaper changes; he takes after me. |
Dana BairdFor your prayers and always picking up my slack at PRA when I've been out. I couldn't have done this without you. You have made my job a breeze during all of this. Many thanks! |

Evelyn SullivanEvelyn, I am in disbelief at how well organized the meal plan is that you have so graciously organized for me and boys. I almost feel guilty knowing that I literally won't have to cook for the next month. Please accept my deepest gratitudes for this wonderful gift. And thanks to everyone who is participating in the meal preparation; I definitely do not take this for granted. |

Kirsten, Matt, and ReidThanks for decorating our house with the "Welcome Home Krysti" sign! She was so excited when she walked in the door. It's now November 21 and it's still hanging on the wall. Krysti doesn't have the heart to take it down. |
LiamFor keeping our spirits up when things got stressful; and for creating stress when things got peaceful. |
Lori SharleyThank you for all of the help you have given Krysti and for your many personal expenditures in order to ensure Krysti was in optimal health going into this surgery. We absolutely believe God was working through you to help Krysti. We pray we can repay the favor one day. |

MOMS clubA special thanks to Faison Dana and all the moms in our MOMS club Augusta County East for sending me cards, e-mails and doing so much for me and my family as we prepare for my surgery. Mom's ClubThanks for all of the personal help and especially the grant to help pay some of the medical expenses; there's no question that we couldn't have made ends meet without the timely grant to help pay for medicine and copayments. We don't take this for granted; thank you so much! |
My best friend, Katy Mullins!!You are the best!! I have no words that can describe your genorosity and care for others--God will richly bless you always!! Love you! |
Nanna Tattrie (my grandmother)For praying for Krysti and sending us flowers in a beautiful ceramic vase. I don't know how you have done it with nearly a hundred descendents (maybe more, maybe less), but you always seem to remember all of your birthdays and special occasions. I can't even do that with electronic devices constantly beeping to tell me I'm missing something. You are amazing. |
Paris CarterThanks Paris and Kelly for watching our cats while we were on our Disney cruise; and more importantly for volunteering to vacuum up all of the flood water Hurricane Jeanne caused. We can't thank you enough! |

Paul and Christy Albus --Tyler and KatieFor loaning us your truck to move the furniture and for being there for Iain and Liam!! |
Pete and KatyFor always bringing over food and giving us art for the house. I'm serious about my offer; you can live in our cottage rent-free; all I expect is an oil painting once a month. It's a steal!! Art for rent; if you sculpt me some marble statues for the garden, I'll throw in groceries.! You can definitely live here when you work on your MFA, just give me your master's project for me to display and my cottage is yours for the taking!! |
PRA InternationalPRA International has shown a boundless willingness to accommodate my needs for this surgery. I want to thank all of my coworkers and friends who have given me support during all of this. I'd like to specifically thank my manager, Wendy Meade, for accommodating my endless requests and my direct Vice Presidents, Bucky Walsh and Lara Krupka, who put the IT department on hold in order to get me a laptop set up the same day I requested it, which is unheard of in a corporation this size. Due to their generosity, I'll be able to work from home during Krysti's recovery period. Thanks to everyone; PRA International has truly been a caring employer where I feel like I’m part of a large family. Thanks again. |
Rusty and the Orlando AcademyThanks everyone down there in the Magic Kingdom for your prayers; we don't take them for granted. |
ShielaFor Krysti's gift basket; the candle has been wonderful! |
Twila and MonicaFor constantly praying and sending feedback; your feedback has been a pillar for Krysti. I know at times it may have seemed like a vortex with no return, but Krysti and I read them daily and continue to do so. They have given Krysti so much strength. I hope to see you guys soon! It seems like ages since I last saw you...way back when I was doing BMX tricks at your house. That is too long! I hope to see you soon. Stop by; we don't live too far away. It would be a nice motorcycle ride for you one weekend. We'd show you around the glorious town of Waynesboro! |
